KalmDown

Stay calm

and

Ride the wave

An urge is a wave. It swells, it crests, and — every single time — it breaks and passes. You can’t stop the ocean, and fighting a wave only drags you under. But you don’t have to. You just have to stay afloat until it rolls through.

KalmDown gives you the tools to ride each one out: a lock you can’t undo in the moment, a coach for when the urge hits, and your own voice reminding you why. That’s all riding the wave is — not white knuckles, just staying with it until the water goes flat again.

How it works

A handful of tools, each for a different part of the wave — starting with the one that holds the line when you can’t.

The lock

A passcode even you can’t remember.

Your clear-headed self sets the lock; then KalmDown takes the key out of your hands. It picks a passcode you never see and reads it to you one digit at a time as you enter it — you don’t choose it, and you don’t memorize it. When the urge comes at 11pm, there’s nothing to resist and nothing to type. You can’t undo a code you never learned.

The passcode KalmDown picks

becomes what you tap

Simple code in. Scrambled taps out. You follow along blind — and never learn the code.

The coach

A coach, not a cheerleader.

zeno is grounded in real habit science — urge surfing, cue and reward, identity. It remembers your triggers and speaks in your words. It will never shame a slip, never fake enthusiasm, and never offer you a way out. Just the thing that takes your commitment as seriously as you did when you made it.

Your Why

Leave yourself a message.

Before you lock, record — in your own voice — why you’re doing this. When the urge to undo it hits, you hear yourself back on the locked screen. Not a quote. Not a notification. You, clear-headed, talking to you, weak.

Question 1 of 3

Why are you locking yourself out — in your own words?

Go-Tos

Somewhere softer to land.

A small, curated shelf of things that actually soothe — music, film, the kind of video that slows you down. An off-ramp for the urge, not another willpower test.

Ride it out

When your hand’s already on the phone.

A guided breath session for the fragile minute. Close your eyes and follow the glow — grow on the inhale, settle on the long exhale. The urge crests and passes, usually in minutes. Somewhere to be until it does.

Your chats, your voice, your codes — they belong to you, not us.

  • Encrypted at rest. Everything sensitive is scrambled before it’s stored. A stolen backup is noise.

  • Yours to erase. Delete your account and every trace goes with it — chats, memory, voice, codes — for good.
